Some of the major duties of a State Court Judge include:

✅ Presiding over criminal and civil matters involving ordinary citizens like you.

✅ Hearing and determining innocence or guilt in criminal and traffic misdemeanor cases, including DUI, misdemeanor drug offenses, and other serious misdemeanor cases.

✅ Trying civil cases, except those in which exclusive jurisdiction is vested in the Superior Courts (e.g., domestic relations, real estate, and injunctive relief).

✅ Reviewing and hearing appeals from Magistrate Court.
✅ Ensuring the court adheres to the Rules of Evidence, the Civil Practice Act, and the Criminal Procedure Act.
